Help support the arts in Kingsport by participating in the first Kingsport Arts Crawl in downtown Kingsport on Thursday, September 24 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tickets are $32 per person and can be purchased at www.KingsportArts.org or on the night of the event under the marquee at the State Theater.

The Arts Crawl will start at the State Theater where you will pick up your passport, wristband and your commemorative wine glass. Then you can visit five local galleries and the newly opened BANQ banquet hall. Enjoy wine and delicious appetizers from area restaurants as you view local art and talk with the artists.

Participating galleries and locations include Cindy Saadeh Fine Art Studio and Ripper Arts Studio and Gallery, Up against the Wall Gallery, Suzanne Barrett Justis Fine Art Studio and Gallery, The Gallery of Local Artists, Downtown Kingsport Association Gallery, and The BANQ featuring Kingsport Arts Guild members work. Participating restaurants include Stir Fry Café, Bone Fire Smokehouse, Café’ N’Orleans, Divine Café & Catering, Kaffe Blue, Kingsport Grocery Company and Rose Cottage Bakery.

Up Against the Wall Gallery will also be hosting a book signing by local author and reporter Vince Staten for his latest book ‘I Always Wanted to be a Cowboy When I Grew up till I Figured out I was Scared of Cows.’

KINGSPORT — The Kingsport Farmers Market is blossoming quite well in its new location downtown, with market officials saying they’ve never been this big, this early in the produce-selling season.

For years the farmers market was located in the Shelby Street parking lot behind the Kingsport Public Library, but when work began on the new TriSummit Bank headquarters (at the old AEP building), this forced the market to relocate a block over to Center Street.

All along though the city of Kingsport had been planning to move the farmers market to the old Quebecor facility. This year that move took place, and the market is now located in an open area at the corner of Center and Clinchfield.”
